"Revernd M. Moncoq, the first martyr of charity in this region, a priest burning with the fire of the apostolic devotion, zealous for souls, overcome by the freezing water of this river while returning from pastoral ministrations, died on the night of January 1st, 1856, at the age of twenty-seven."
This headstone is hanging on the wall in the south west corner of Sacred Heart church in the area where the priest get dress for mass.
